Welcome bonus at Valmo: the first deposit and its conditions
A welcome bonus is extra money or spins given to a new player for the first deposit — also called a first deposit bonus or sign-up bonus. Sometimes it is split across several deposits and called a welcome package. It sounds simple, yet the welcome bonus is a new player's first contract with the operator and often their first dispute.

How it works
You deposit and the operator adds a bonus amount based on a percentage. The bonus amount, and often your deposit too, is tied to a wagering requirement: before withdrawing you must place bets up to a set total. Until then, withdrawal is restricted or cancels the bonus.

Illustrative example: how the dispute starts and how to avoid it
A player activated the welcome bonus, won on a slot and requested a withdrawal. The operator voided the winnings because one bet exceeded the maximum allowed under the bonus terms. The player had not read that clause. The fix was simple: check the maximum bet before playing and keep every stake below it. A game allowing a bigger stake does not mean the terms do.
